After completing a successful speed run. James has initiated a big flare ( 74m as per flysight data ) at a safe height above the LZ to achieve a minimum 40 second canopy flight
He has initiated his deployment sequence at the top of his flare which has been unsuccessful
He has continued to attempt to deploy, however has ended up in a fetle position, still attempting to find his PC
This has led to him rolling on his back, and impacting on his side, coming to rest next to a switchback road, next to the lower LZ
James had had one previous miss pull the day before, this could or could not be because of adopting a new flare technique. This was raised between his peers, and he had mentioned the need to go back to skydiving, and perfect the technique of the new flare. However, he was happy and confident to continue the competition, and felt comfortable to keep jumping
On arrival to his final resting place, no signs of life were present. James was told he wasn’t alone, that he was loved, and made comfortable to the sounds of his favourite hip hop until emergency services arrived
