Stephan had approximately 40 previous BASE jumps, with one being from this same cliff. The jump is stowed and slider up and he did a conservative delay and tracked before opening high over the talus. He then experienced an off heading opening and suffered a wall strike.Witness reports from the top say he should have had enough time to turn but maybe had line twists, or some other problem, not apparent from the top. Stephan was a locally well respected rigger and in the process of setting up a BASE school when this accident occurred. He leaves behind a wife and two children
