What do we believe happened?

His Base mentor wanted to remember him for the great person he was and he has written this below so other jumpers can see.

He was a smart and skilful jumper , a funny and sensitive character, he always managed he’s ego and obsessions and actually decided not to jump far more times than he did jumped. He respected base jumping as he valued life because base jumping was giving him the freedom, connection and emotions he probably lacked from his life…just like most of us.

He started base jumping to deal with depression and his addiction in coke… it kinda worked out the first couple of years and he seemed happy. Base jumping can become a drug itself and the lack of it can probably cause depression too I guess… The last year he wasn’t jumping as much , he admitted that he was hooked to coke badly again and that he suffered psychologically, constantly feeling “unhappy and empty inside”.

He was working two different jobs and after breaking up with his relationship he kinda let go of himself … he was feeling too much pressure , psychological stress and too much coke I guess made him think in a paranoid way as taking life’s shit to seriously and as not loving himself or anything anymore.
He committed suicide , hanged himself at home and police found an older note that if he ever goes in or something happens to him he wanted to be burned and his ashes spread out were we used to skydive and base jump.

I’ve tried and failed to save him from himself and I guess I underestimated the combination of all the above… what matters in the end is that he knew I loved him and I knew he loved me too. All his buddies are numb and try to recover from the shock .
It reliefs me to believe my mentors spirit (Jimmy Pouchert) guides he’s soul to fly free on the other side.
