Fabrice Monier

Fabrice was jumping alone when the accident happened.
He reached the exit by skiing up from the top of the last cable car (2700m) and leave his ski gear on the glacier before the rock part.
As he was missing for 2 days, another jumper sounded the emergency.
His body was found a hundred meters northeast from the "classic" exit, close to the summit of the Petite Aiguille Verte (3512m) by the Chamonix rescue unit.
His go pro was found.
He jumped from a 60m vertical pillar, followed by a steep snow talus and a gorge.
Fabrice made his countdown but waited 11 seconds grunting before jumping.
He started flying and hit the snow talus 4,5 seconds later, less than 100m below.
Measures taken the days after shows a non-jumpable cliff profile.
We don't know if he tried to open a new exit or if he thought the classic exit was here, but we suppose he didn't really measure the place.
Fabrice knew this place from being there twice without his rig.
Despite having a good experience of high alpine wingsuit jumps and a good alpinism curriculum, he was not current on opening exits.
Fabrice was known as a pretty conservative jumper, more as a safe jumper.
As he was a discreet and often a lonely jumper, we miss elements to have a complete analyze of the factors driving him to do this bad decision making.
Fabrice was really appreciated by the community and will be missed.
