Description
Rim was the father of Ratmir Nagimyanov (BFL #311). He started skydiving after his son's death in 2017 and began BASE jumping in 2019. He himself wrote that during his first year he made only "a few" BASE jumps. He started wingsuit BASE in 2021, flying a Freak. The exact number of his skydives and BASE jumps is unknown, but apparently he had very few.
His exits and flights were very poor and unstable. Many experienced jumpers told him that his jumping was very dangerous, but he... bought an Aura 4. He flew the Aura at speeds of around 120 km/h, sometimes 100 km/h or less (according to his tracks on Skyderby). Before his last trip, he had taken a long break from jumping — more than a year.
He jumped alone, from the Arrow exit. It's an easy exit: you can fly straight out into the valley, in open air, or follow the wall. Locals spotted his parachute hanging on the cliff. It was far from the exit, so he most likely flew along the wall. There is currently no information about his camera or FlySight.
He may have impacted the terrain in flight, or it may have been an intentional or unintentional deployment close to the wall.
Judging by his social media posts, his decision to start jumping was heavily influenced by his son's death. It is not entirely clear whether BASE jumping was something he genuinely wanted to pursue for himself, or whether it was primarily a way for him to survive the trauma associated with the death of a son.
